Setup
Account access and repository access are separate, and you need both.
- Create or sign in to your Rami account. The account owns your plan, trial reviews, credits, and organization memberships.
- Install the GitHub App on the repositories Rami should review. The installation lets Rami receive pull-request events and read those repositories. It does not create a Rami account, organization, membership, or trial entitlement.
- Connect the MCP server so your coding agent can fetch findings and work the review loop without leaving your editor. This step is optional — reviews still post to the pull request without it.
Connecting MCP
Claude Code and Cursor read JSON configuration:
{
"mcpServers": {
"rami": { "type": "http", "url": "https://rami.reviews/mcp" }
}
}
Codex uses TOML at ~/.codex/config.toml. Adding the server from the CLI
also completes the OAuth login:
codex mcp add rami --url https://rami.reviews/mcp
Codex asks for approval on every Rami tool call because the calls reach an external
service. The client sends only the PR URL — Rami reads the pull request through its
GitHub App installation — so the read-only tools are safe to pre-approve. Note that
get_review_results starts a review when none exists yet; that is the
loop working as intended, and re-reviewing the same pull request does not consume
additional quota. To stop
the per-call prompts, add these entries to ~/.codex/config.toml (this
must be user-level config; Codex ignores approval settings shipped inside a
plugin). The mutating tools (rebut, defer,
dismiss) are deliberately absent so Codex still asks before each of
those:
[mcp_servers.rami.tools.get_review_results]
approval_mode = "approve"
[mcp_servers.rami.tools.get_review_status]
approval_mode = "approve"
[mcp_servers.rami.tools.get_fix_prompt]
approval_mode = "approve"
[mcp_servers.rami.tools.get_current_branch_pr]
approval_mode = "approve"
[mcp_servers.rami.tools.get_usage]
approval_mode = "approve"
Available tools: get_current_branch_pr, get_review_results,
get_review_status, get_fix_prompt, rebut,
defer, dismiss, get_usage.
